This weekend (last weekend? Never sure how to say it)...The weekend that just passed was awesome. Ever since the first time we met up with Gio, we figured it'd be a good idea to get as many bloggers together as possible. And guess what? We were right. If you've noticed the trend in our posts, every time we do a meet-up, there are more and more people. This basically proves a big theme that kept coming up while we were hanging out – if you want something, ask. We wanted like-minded people to get together, so we asked if they wanted to get together. Sure, not everyone showed up. But who cares? We ended up with an awesome crew and had a great time.
It's not as simple as ask to receive, but what we're saying is it doesn't hurt to ask. It doesn't matter what it is – asking that cute person out, inquiring about a job, a raise, help with whatever, etc. – the point is to have the courage to ask, and not be afraid of the answer. It doesn't matter if you don't get the answer you were looking for. The worst thing that happens is you're back where you started. Worst case scenario, you move on to a better source. If you're dedicated enough, you'll get it. Sometimes the person you have to ask is yourself. How much you actually want something, that is. A questions us Apes ask ourselves a lot, for example, is "what's next?" We won't get into it on this post, but take it as food for thought until a future post on the subject.
In this case, we asked a few LA menswear bloggers if they were down to meet up to hang out, have some beer, and maybe food. Simple enough. Some never replied, some didn't show up, but then some did, and it resulted in a pretty awesome night of discussion, beer, photography sessions, music, and food. Not bad for a Saturday:
