About 2 months ago my girlfriend, Rachel, and I moved in together (more on moving in with your SO soon!). I bought a few things for the new place. Rachel...she went on a frenzie. Among the cool things we bought for our new home were these cool copper side tables (she got these before we even had a bed to go with them, fyi) that Rachel found. I’m not even sure how many tables she showed me before deciding on them, but we took almost as long deciding on the color as we did deciding on a style–and there were a whole four colors, yo! Before this move, I had not heard about most furniture shops. Apt2B was among these unknowns. Most of my previous furniture came from Craigslist, Ikea, and Target. Heh. Furniture shopping (and Rachel), opened me up to a lot of other shops. A lot were too damn expensive. A lot looked too damn cheap.
We didn’t stop at the side tables though. After we got them, we ended up adding a lot more stuff from Apt2B to our wish list. I added a clock and a cool accent chair. Rachel wanted a damn sectional. Not going to lie, I thought it was unnecessary. We already had two love seats that I thought looked okay, and they were in good condition. But the sectionals remained on the list (they did look cool).
Before pulling the trigger on more pieces, Rachel had the idea of reaching out to them for a collaboration. So I did, and they were up for it! Full disclosure, Apt2B hooked us up with a living room. Mind you, we were going to buy more furniture from them regardless. And, humans, everything looks awesome. Everything down to the clock is on point. We gave them the general idea of our look and our wishlist, and they helped us decide on the items that worked best with what we were going for. See for yourself, though. Our place looks, as Beef Ape said after he saw it, like “a freaking magazine cover.” OH. The sectional. I experienced SECtional healing (thank you to you Melanie from Apt2B for the term). I was converted. Sectionals are awesome. Fitting your entire body on a sofa is great. I was wrong!
This wasn’t the end of it, though! Mat and Alex— the founders of Apt2B —decided to come over and bring some pizza and beer to enjoy with us. Pizza and beer, humans. We weren’t about to say no. The crew came over one Thursday evening, and we had a damn good time. Stay tuned to their social for the video, though.
